Niagara Falls Trip
The Migrant Worker Community Program (MWCP) organizes a fun and accessible day trip to Niagara Falls, giving participants the opportunity to explore one of Canada’s most iconic destinations. Participants travel together by bus, with a set transportation fee announced in advance of the trip date. The group departs early in the morning and returns later in the evening, allowing a full day to enjoy everything Niagara Falls has to offer. Upon arrival, participants are free to explore at their own pace, whether that means joining a guided group experience with MWCP, exploring independently, or spending time with friends or family. Please note that MWCP provides transportation only, and any additional costs during the trip such as food, attractions, tours, or souvenirs are the responsibility of each participant. Overall, the trip offers a safe, comfortable, and flexible way to enjoy a full day of exploration as part of a community.

Festival of
Guest Nations
The Festival of Guest Nations is one of the Migrant Worker Community Program’s (MWCP) largest annual events, typically held in the fall, and is dedicated to celebrating cultural diversity and the contributions of migrant workers. The event brings together community members, organizations, and partners to share traditions from different cultures through music, dance, food, and interactive experiences. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy live performances, cultural food offerings, and community and information booths that highlight available resources and services. The festival creates a vibrant and welcoming space for connection, learning, and celebration, and has become an ongoing tradition within MWCP, made possible through collaboration with various community organizations.

Greenhouse
Cup
The Greenhouse Cup is one of MWCP’s most anticipated community events, organized in partnership with the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG), bringing together farms and teams from across Windsor–Essex for a two-day soccer tournament filled with energy, teamwork, and friendly competition. Teams representing different workplaces and locations compete in a structured tournament format, creating a fun and competitive environment for migrant workers to connect and enjoy the game. Throughout both days, free food is provided for participants, and teams are supplied with kits to ensure everyone can take part comfortably. The Greenhouse Cup is a highly anticipated event that celebrates sport, community, and unity, ultimately crowning the Greenhouse Cup champions and creating unforgettable moments on and off the field.

Christmas
Party
The MWCP Christmas Party is an annual community event that celebrates the end of the year and brings people together to enjoy the holiday season in a welcoming and joyful setting. This free event features live music performances, raffles, free food, and a variety of activities that create a festive and inclusive atmosphere for all ages. Attendees have the opportunity to spend time with friends and family, meet new people, and connect with the community while enjoying the holiday spirit. The event also includes information booths that share helpful resources and support, making it both a celebration and a meaningful community gathering. The Christmas Party has become a cherished MWCP tradition and a special way to celebrate the season together.

Filipino
Salu -Salo
Filipino Salu-Salo is an annual community event dedicated to celebrating Philippine Independence Day and honoring Filipino culture, heritage, and community. Open to everyone, this free indoor event brings together friends, families, and community members for an afternoon filled with culturally Filipino food, music, games, raffles, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to the celebrations, the event features information booths that provide access to helpful community resources and support. Filipino Salu-Salo creates a vibrant space for connection, cultural pride, and togetherness, making it a meaningful and joyful tradition within the MWCP community.

Mexican
Village
Mexican Village is an annual cultural celebration held in Leamington, Ontario, and is part of the Carousel of the Nations initiative, which highlights different cultures through dedicated celebrations across various locations. This free event is open to everyone and transforms a street into a vibrant cultural space filled with primarily Mexican-owned vendors offering food, goods, and handmade items. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy live performances, traditional dances, and music that celebrate Mexican culture and pride. The event also includes information and community booths that share resources and support. Mexican Village is a joyful and welcoming celebration that brings people together to experience culture, community, and a shared sense of pride.

Health &
Information
Fair
MWCP Health and Information Fairs are held multiple times throughout the year and are free events designed to support migrant workers by bringing essential services and resources together in one accessible and welcoming space. These fairs provide access to healthcare information, legal advice, and a wide range of community programs, all in one location. Services are offered in multiple languages, with translators available on-site to ensure participants can comfortably ask questions and receive support in their preferred language. In addition to the information and resource booths, the fairs feature live music and free food, creating a friendly and inclusive environment. MWCP Health and Information Fairs play an important role in empowering migrant workers with knowledge, access to services, and a strong sense of community.

Basketball
League
MWCP proudly sponsors and supports a basketball tournament organized by the Filipino-Canadian Association of Windsor-Essex County, creating an exciting space for teams to come together through sport and friendly competition. The tournament may take place up to two times per year and brings together teams from across the community in a high-energy and inclusive environment. Filled with excitement, teamwork, and emotion, the event offers participants a chance to connect, compete, and celebrate basketball in a positive and supportive setting. This tournament highlights the power of sport in building community, strengthening relationships, and creating memorable shared experiences.

Day
MWCP’s Mother’s Day Celebration is an annual, free community event open to the broader community, with a special focus on celebrating mothers and encouraging them to attend with their families. Usually held indoors, the event features free food, live music, raffles, and a joyful atmosphere where dancing is strongly encouraged. Mothers are recognized and celebrated through special moments and gifts, creating a warm and appreciative environment. In addition to the celebrations, information booths are available to share helpful community resources and support. This event provides a meaningful opportunity for families and friends to come together, honor mothers, and enjoy quality time in a festive and welcoming space.

Center
MWCP Welcome Centres are free community events designed to support, connect, and celebrate community members in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Usually held indoors, these events feature free food, live music, raffles, and a lively atmosphere that encourages connection and conversation. Alongside the celebrations, information booths are available to share helpful community resources, services, and programs. Welcome Centres provide a relaxed and inclusive space for individuals, friends, and families to meet new people, access support, and feel welcomed and connected within the community.

Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving Celebration offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals, friends, and families to meet new people, connect with the community, and enjoy a festive day together.
